BlackBerry manufacturer, said some customers in North America, the device is interrupted to receive personal e-mail message.

Technicians are working to failure, Waterloo, Ontario-based company said in an e-mail statement today. Telephone and Web browsing are not affected, RIM said.

Outage will affect all BlackBerry users, regardless of carrier, which refers to-edge Internet services for e-mail delivery instead of the corporate servers, said Jeffrey Nelson, a spokesman for Verizon Wireless, the largest U.S. mobile operator. This means that large corporate customers are not affected.

Sprint Nextel Corp. customers are also experiencing interruptions, said Crystal Davis, spokesman for the third-largest U.S. mobile phone company. AT & T Inc. is also affected, said Michael Coe, a spokesman for the second-largest U.S. mobile operator. Rogers Communications Inc., Canada's largest wireless operator, will develop as interruptions, spokeswoman Odette Coleman said in an e-mail.

Businesses and governments around the world rely on the Blackberry to communicate with mobile workers. Hand, in which competing devices like Apple Inc. 's iPhone, has about 32 million users worldwide at the end of August.

RIM fell $ 1.14, or 1.8 percent, to $ 63.53 at 12:33 pm New York time in Nasdaq Stock Market trading. Stocks gained 59 percent this year before today.

Consumer Push

RIM is for the consumer models with camera and music player business to increase sales to cut spending in the middle of economic crisis. The company, which gets about two-thirds of revenue from North America, is scheduled to report third quarter earnings today after market close.

There-business customers with more than 80 percent of leaves newcomers in the second quarter, compared with 50 percent two years ago. The company said in September that more than half of its total subscriber base is outside the world of business.
